Hybrid Vehicles in Zambia

Hybrid vehicles (petrol-electric, like the Toyota Prius, Aqua, or Honda Fit Hybrid) are treated as regular petrol vehicles for duty purposes under current ZRA rules. For most Zambian buyers, a small-hybrid or small-cc petrol vehicle offers the best balance of import cost, running cost, and reliability. Full EVs make sense for buyers in Lusaka with access to home charging and a daily commute under 200 km.
